A Maxim. Of Meekness. Of Possession. Of Competition.

One will try to conquer the world, but the meek man will possess it forever. This latter is more than a conqueror—but neither by the might of his fist or will, nor by his appeal to the right. Rather, by refusing to fight, by removing himself from the grand competition, by bearing the burden of his neighbors so lightly that it would seem they were serving him, he extends himself into all things.
